Understanding Through Language
Doctrine and Covenants 1:24 states that God speaks to us in our own language so we can understand Him. This idea also applies to photography and storytelling, communication isn't just about words, it's about visuals too.
When I take a photo, I think about how it will be perceived. Does it evoke emotion? Does it tell a story? Just like with writing, knowing my audience helps me decide how to frame a shot, what lighting to use, or whether to shoot in black and white. Photography, like language, is about understanding and connection. The best images are the ones that speak to people in a way they understand.
