How to Stay Inspired as a Film Photographer (Even When You Feel Stuck)

Let’s be real - we all hit creative blocks. Some days, even loading my camera feels like a chore. But I’ve learned a few tricks to keep the spark alive, especially with film photography.

First, change your environment. Even a quick walk around your neighborhood can open your eyes to new details you’ve never noticed before. Light, shadows, reflections, they’re always shifting.

Second, try shooting with a different film stock. Each one has its own vibe, and switching it up can really refresh your creativity.

Also, connect with other photographers. Share your work, ask for feedback, or just talk about the ups and downs of shooting film. Honestly, these conversations remind me why I started in the first place.

Lastly, allow yourself to take breaks. It’s okay to step away and come back with a fresh perspective. Creativity isn’t something you can force - sometimes, you just need to give it space to breathe.

Remember, the journey is just as important as the final shot. Keep going, and keep creating.
